The best proposals are done YOUR way.
This was a proposal session — the kind that’s all heart, all nerves, and all joy wrapped up into one really meaningful moment. Porter wanted to propose when it was just the two of them (which I love), but still have the moment captured afterward so they could remember exactly how it felt. Best of both worlds, honestly. Private, intimate, and then documented once the happy shock had settled in just a little.
And here’s the fun “small world” part: he was actually a kid at a camp where I used to be a counselor. I hadn’t seen him in years, so meeting up again for this milestone was pretty surreal in the best way. Life really has a funny way of bringing people back together. It was my first time meeting her, but within minutes it was obvious why these two work so well. Their energy together was effortless — relaxed, playful, and full of that quiet excitement that comes from knowing you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
The proposal happened at the cutest little inn, and truly, it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting. Cozy, charming, and timeless — the kind of place that already feels like a memory while you’re standing in it. There was no rush, no pressure. Just lots of laughing, a few “I can’t believe this just happened” moments, and that soft glow that follows a big yes.
Even though it was the middle of winter, we were completely blessed with clear skies. One of those crisp, bright days that feels calm instead of cold. The light was beautiful, the air was fresh, and everything just felt… peaceful. Winter sessions have such a quiet magic to them, and this one leaned fully into that. Nothing flashy — just two people, a meaningful place, and a whole lot of love.
I left this session smiling the entire way home. Grateful for full-circle moments, grateful for clear winter skies, and grateful for getting to witness the start of something really special. Proposal sessions like this are such a reminder that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful. Sometimes it’s quiet, intentional, and perfectly timed.
